‘March’ing on…

March 27th, 2007 by rexmundi69

We’re now well under way through the year 2007. March, one of the seven months in the year with 31 days arrived, was here and now is almost gone in the blink of an eye…
How time flies, and it wont be long now till my return to Brunei!! ( less than 4 months time)

There weren’t much social event this month…but we had a few notable events…such as St David’s Day and St Patrick’s Day. And not forgetting World Maths Day an annual global event where students from all over there world are united and try to solve as many maths equation as possible. Held on 14th March, it is also known as Pi-Day (3.14) and it also happens to be the birthday of Albert Einstein…

And yes I was able to participate in this global event as well. I was, for a short time placed no 44 in the Hall of Fame…having answered 9000+ questions but was later kicked out as I wasn’t able to spend more time on the computer ( I’m in a boarding house with strict timetables >.< ). We broke a new record  and  final total in 2007 was 38,904,275 questions answered correctly. Impressive record and I feel great to be able to play my part and make a contribution on that.

Also this month, I visited Manchester United’s Theater of Dreams!! What a moment~It was a lovely sight. The atmosphere was brilliant as the supporters were cheering and singing….and with

Manchester beating Bolton 4-1, the Premiership title gets a step closer back to Old Trafford. A great day of football over here and its still early on…I believe that  they can indeed repeat the 1999 ‘Treble’. Cmon United!!

It was hard to leave Old Trafford…me and Amo were admiring the site so much that it hurt to leave. But, with our day trip almost half over, we had to move on…so we left and headed for the Trafford Centre…upon arrival, I was amazed by the sheer size of it. It was huge and probably the largest shopping mall I’ve ever been to. With our stay being less than 2hours, we just had a small glimpse of it. Had supper at a Spanish restaurant and it was lovely! The atmosphere was so relaxing and the food was briliant! Before heading back to Oswestry, we stop by and had a kebab for snack…

Lastly, the most important date of this month…March 21st!! The day spring starts…the birthday of the best footballer in the world, Ronaldinho. And…my B’day!! The day when I’m supposed to be a year older…a year wiser and all the other crappy stuff. Whats so special about this bday? Its my 1st one that I’m away from my home…out of Asia. It’s my last year as a teenager… still cant believe that I’ve lived on this earth for nineteen years now!! How time flies~

Alryte enuf depressing stuff…what did I gt on my ‘special’ day? A lovely lunch…a nice cake…and  nike bag! Bday cards and wishes…and last Sunday went cinema watched 300…Elle’s and Brooke’s treat!! Jus wanna say thanks guys and gurlz! Love u loads…

Now Im jus looking forward to my Easter holidays…Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Paris!!All the wait is finally gone…finally its time to move out and see what Europe is all about…

For now,aug Wiedersehen und sieh siein 1 monaten!!

‘April is upon us. In just afew weeks time, our clocks will zoom forward and summer will arrive. And summer means skimpy tops…short skirts…oh yea!’

Valentine’s Day

February 15th, 2007 by rexmundi69

Everyone in the PHC was listening with keen interest as Mr Lambkin, Head of 6th Form, delivered his short speech. Its been awhile since we had a full school house assembly due to the examinations. So perhaps that explains why everyone was focesed on every word that was addressed by Mr Lambkin. Or perhaps it was the topic…which was about Valentines day.

“It originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D., the same day that had been devoted to love lotteries. Legend also says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer’s daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it "From Your Valentine". Other aspects of the story say that Saint Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine jailed for defying him. In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honour St. Valentine.

Gradually, February 14 became the date for exchanging love messages and St. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers. The date was marked by sending poems and simple gifts such as flowers. There was often a social gathering or a ball.”

Valentine’s day… a traditional day where lovers express their loves by sending poems, letters and like what Mr Lambkin said, gifts such as carnation. And a ball…a ball was what we got! It was the social event of the term and everyone had put a lot of effort into making it a night worth to remember. There will be members of staff as well as special guest and governors present so we have to make a good impression of ourselves and take it as a formal social ball.

Preparation was made early. Everyone were in their tux with bows and ties and carnation ready about 1 hour  earlier before the night began. All the lads looked great in their tux…I looked great even if I have to say so myself! =P ( all the lads looked lil bit lyk James Bond!) The night officially began around 7 in the evening.  There was a picture taking session where every couple had a chance to have their pictures taken professionally. Everyone looked great and some of the couples were adorable! Cute and lovely together…After the session, we had a little chat before going to our tables.

After a little bit of another short session of our very own photo taking session and mingling with the guests, we had a taste of the well-seasoned exquisite buffet. It was far better the usual meal we get served daily from the canteen so some of us took advantage and took a plateful of this heavenly meal. Bon Appetite!! Ohh… not forgetting our table manners of course…

Once we’re done with our dessert, Tom and Nicholas were upstage to provide some entertainment with some songs. We had a great time as we waltz around, do the cha cha, and even rock the dance floor  with some informal type of dancing ( which was kinda shocking to me as I was told this was supposed to be a formal ball).Everyone was enjoying themselves and having a great time.

The ball ended at round about midnight. By that time, everyone was clearly exhausted from all the dancing…and for some.. from the drinking. When you’re awaken the next morning, your life might feel to be just a little bit different, after knowing how magical it is to be in love~

Wishing a Happy Valentine’s Day to all the sweet couples out there!!

Finally!~

February 10th, 2007 by rexmundi69

Finally! I need not wait any longer… at last I get a chance to see, feel, touch and experience SNOW in winter. And the feeling is brilliant!! And what a wonderful time it is to be snowing… just perfect. The hype howeveer began 2 weeks ago…

23 January 2007…temperatures went below 0 degree Celsius. Ice was on the pavement and it was the very 1st time I see it… natural ice!! As it was the first time I see it, natural ice, the German guys started to laugh at me ( cant blame em. I was acting like a complete idiot getting all excited by seeing ice on the ground ). And from then on, I waited excitedly waiting for the day it will begin snowing…

05 February 2007…just 5 days ago. I was awoken by a knock on the door. “ Its going to  snow today if your lucky, “ Mr Price, our housemaster said with a smile. I quickly woke up, and went to the common room, log on into one of the computers and check the weather forecast for the day. I knew that one day this day will come!! But it wasn’t today…It was just another cloudy day … However, at the end of the 5-day forecast table, was the forecast for Thursday. And I sat there smiling…knowing that it wont be long now.

08 February 2007…730am. As my alarm rang, I woke up and immediately stared out the window. And the sight that greeted me was amazing. Everything was white! The grass, trees, the rooftops of houses… everything!!  As I dressed up for school, Amir and Jonas came. “Have you seen it?? Have you touched it?? What do you think??” And  I simply replied ‘BRILLIANT!’

As we went for breakfast at the cafeteria, I stood outside our house, admiring the gentle soft snowflakes falling before me…watching in awe as everything was covered in a blanket of white snow. It was like in a dream. As I stood there enjoying watching the gentle snowfall, I got a wake up call bringing me back into reality. A large snowball hitting me directly on the side of my face. How did it felt?? Painful..?? Not one bit!! It was soft and cold…and a minute later, wet! And after that, as more students started arriving, everyone started doing it. SNOWBALL FIGHT!!! The whole day.At every opportunity we had. Jus before school, during breaks, before register, after lunch. When there’s an opportunity, we’ll be there. Snowball fight…everywhere by everyone. From year 7 to year 13. At the tennis court, outside the 6th form centre, and by the Hill!! Theres not a single place you can hide!

After dinner, we went sledding down the hill.  Using trays, bins, tyres, anything we can find!! It was great fun, fast and exciting…dangerous as well. I suffered  scratches and bruises on my hand and legs though it dint really hurt as my body was too numb to feel anything. But I’m sure I’ll be sorry in the morning!! ><

At days end, as I prepared my bed ready to go to dreamland, I stared out the window for one last time. Today was indeed a special day. A wonderful day. A day when a boy’s dream finally came true. The white blanket of snow on the ground will be melting by tommorow . I know it’ll be freezing cold then. But with my youthful blood rushing all around my body filled with excitement, I’m pretty sure it won’t be much of a problem!

10 ways to increase a woman’s desire for you…

September 22nd, 2005 by rexmundi69

1- Keep your attitude in shape:
Remember; you’re the catch, not her. Your attitude should be that
you’re doing her a favor by letting her into your life. Women
love confidence in men and broadcasting this kind of self-image
will boost her attraction to you.

2- Always keep her guessing:
Make sure that you maintain contact with other women (especially
good-looking women). This doesn’t mean that you should cheat on
her, it will fan the flames of her desire and she will work
harder to make sure you don’t get away.

3- Don’t get sloppy:
Visit the gym once in a while, too, and don’t forget to take a
shower when you leave. A sweaty guy with a Jell-O gut and a
double chin is not likely to inspire lust in his woman.

4- Keep your own life:
Women are so good at taking over men’s lives that a lot of guys
just give up on who they really are as soon as the girlfriend
starts cracking the whip. To keep balance in the relationship and
to keep yourself from turning into a castrated wussy.

5- Don’t put up with female crap: "No Offense or no
hard feelings Ladies :)"
Put your foot down right away. If you let a woman get away with
an inch, she’ll take a hundred miles, and she’ll lose respect for
you as a man. Once she does that, her interest in you as a lover
will plummet to zero.

6- Turn on your seduction skills:
Part of what got you two into the sack in the first place was
your ability to charm — to overcome female objections. This is
what seduction is all about — creating an atmosphere in which a
woman will be willing to let down her guards on her
"virtue."

7- Be an imaginative, romantic lover:
This is a skill that will take you a long, long way with women.
Women aren’t like men. They just aren’t going to be very happy if
you impersonate a battering ram, then roll over and start
snoring. Take some time to learn how to please a woman — the
payoff is huge.

8- Be a man of mystery:
Your goal should be to keep her from taking you for granted, so
it’s very important to make yourself less available and more
unpredictable. Women thrive on challenges, so make her work a
little to be part of your life.

9- Don’t get complacent:
Taking a woman for granted is the easiest way to relationship
suicide. Women are amazingly self-centered and love to be
showered with lots of attention. This means you should listen to
what she has to say, take great pleasure in her company, and
compliment her (especially on her looks). In other words, make
her feel special and you’ll keep the flames of desire burning
hot.

10- Give her some space:
A lot of guys are way too territorial — they’re so worried about
losing a woman to another guy that they practically smother her
in the hopes of limiting her options and keeping her nailed in
place. But usually the opposite happens — she starts to feel
trapped and bolts. This is just caused by insecurity, and
insecurity is not at all attractive to women.

Aint it funny….

A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can
spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

HAPPINESS
To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love
him a little.
To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot and not try to
understand her at all.

LONGEVITY
Married men live longer than single men do,
but married men are a lot more willing to die.

PROPENSITY TO CHANGE
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn’t.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won’t change, and she
does.

DISCUSSION TECHNIQUE
A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new
argument.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst, for they are sticking to
their diets.

Life is an endless struggle full of frustrations and challenges,
but eventually you find a hairstylist you like.

You’re getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking
chair that you once got from a roller coaster.

One of the life’s mysteries is how a 200g chocolate can make a
person gain 2kg’s.

It’s frustrating when you know all the answers and nobody bothers
to ask you the questions.

If you can remain calm, you just don’t have all the facts.

The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing
in the right place, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at
the tempting moment.

Time may be a great healer, but it’s also a lousy beautician.

Brain cells come and brain cells go, but fat cells live forever.

Life doesn’t just begin at forty; it also begins to show then.

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain
consciousness.

If at first you don’t succeed, see if the loser gets anything.

You don’t stop laughing because you grow old; you grow old
because you stop laughing.

Amazing! You just hang something in your closet for a while, and
it shrinks two sizes.

It is bad to suppress laughter; it goes back down and spreads to
your hips.

The only time a woman wishes she were a year older is when she is
expecting a baby.

Freedom of the press means no-iron clothes.
